3-6-24 THOUGHTS
The reading below has been our subject material in the Tuesday morning class for some time now. It has been exciting to discuss this information from God! The last verse reminds us that to obtain the salvation of our souls is our primary goal. Grace and peace should be ours “in the fullest measure” now! God’s Spirit Words are powerful in verses 4 & 5... “ to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.” The imperishable protected idea should excite our souls. Please, may we let our souls be excited about our purpose in the Lord? Overcoming the trials of our lives as we prove our faith is what we do as we rejoice! We are God’s adopted family! Our salvation from God is "ready to be revealed in the last time." We must be ready to receive it!
Matt 26:41 "Keep watching and praying that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."
1Pet 1:1-9 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who reside as aliens, scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, who are chosen 2 according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the sanctifying work of the Spirit, May grace and peace be yours in the fullest measure. 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 6 In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, 7 so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 8 and though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, 9 obtaining as the outcome of your faith the salvation of your souls.
My Prayer:
O Father, may the words from You written above, drive us to a higher plane of thinking and living. May we be helped to abide in You continually. Help us, O God, with every trial and temptation. By faith, through Your power, protect us! May we ever be ready for the coming of Jesus. We would ever be watching and waiting. We rejoice that we know these things. You are an Awesome God and we praise You and thank You. May we have that promised inheritance!
In the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
